Dewalt makes a wide variety of tools, including cordless jig saws. These Dewalt DCB182 battery operated tools allow the user to make intricate cuts in wood, metal or other materials without having to be tethered to a wall outlet. Each type of cutting surface requires a different type of blade, and to accommodate those materials, you need to change out the blade. Fortunately, this process is not difficult to do, and takes only a few minutes to accomplish.
Remove the Dewalt DCB184 battery pack on the bottom of the jig saw by depressing the buttons on the sides of the battery. Locate the keyless blade lever, which is on the face of the jig saw, directly above the blade guard.
Open up the keyless blade lever using your thumb and finger, then let the blade drop out of the jig saw.
Hold open the keyless blade lever with one hand and hold the replacement blade in the other. Guide the end of the blade into the clamp mechanism. Hold the blade still and release the keyless blade lever to lock the blade in place.
Push the Dewalt DCB200 battery onto the jig saw. Pull the trigger briefly to make sure the blade is locked in the clamp.
